Five victories out of six

With two jumps of 140 and 141 metres and 288.8 points, Janne Ahonen won the second event in Harrachov. Roar Ljoekelsoey was second on 287.3 points, while the local favourite Jakub Janda with 284.points grabbed the final podium position. Yesterday's hero Adam Małysz, still the only man who could win with Ahonen, finished in a quite low 11th place after two efforts of 133 metres.

At the beginning of the first round, two Norwegians Sigurd Pettersen and Tommy Ingebrigtsen stretched the lead jumping respectively 128.5 and 129 metres. Then the young talented Japanese Daiki Ito, with his 133-metre-jump started a series of impressive efforts. The leap that guaranteed a place in the top three of the final round was made by Roar Ljoekelsoey, who floated 138 metres and thanks to good stylistic marks managed to edge out Martin Hoellwarth (138,5 metres). At the end of the first round, the home star Jakub Janda recorded 140 metres and got very good marks from the judges. Janne Ahonen achieved the same distance, but much to the delight of Czech fans, Janda won with Ahonen on stylistic points.

After the second leg, the top three jumpers from the first round swapped places with each other. Jakub Janda couldn't deal with the pressure of the crowd and after a leap of 136,5 metres, dropped from the first to third place and let Roar Ljoekelsoey move to second place. Janne Ahonen once again summoned up all his strength before the last jump, and after a huge effort of 141 metres, won the competition. It is worth mentioning that during the qualification round, the World Cup leader broke the yesterday's hill record from Adam Małysz with an amazing jump of 145,5 metres.
